TEXAS – A 23-year-old maths teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after Snapchats with her 16-year-old student led to a sexual relationship.
Alaina Ferguson, who was engaged to be married has since called off her wedding.
The student told local police their affair began at the beginning of the school year when he wrote his Snapchat user name on the top of his Algebra test, to which Ferguson replied in hopes they would meet.
The two met at a park in Lewisville, Texas, days later and had sex on a bench, according to the New York Post.
She is accused of sending the boy nude selfies, plying him with alcohol and having sex with him in her fiancé’s apartment while he was out of town.
Ferguson allegedly had sex with the teen in November in the back of his pickup truck after a football game.
She has since been released from Collin County Jail after posting a $100,000 bond and is required to always wear an electronic tracking device, take down her social media accounts and cease from going on the Internet completely.
